NOTE:
Print speed and temperature settings are meant as a general
guide and may vary depending upon the specific printer and
application. |
"Standard" Wax:
Formulated for printed material that does not require a
great resistance to heat, chemicals or scratching. This
ribbon will run at the highest print speeds and the lowest
printhead temperatures. Designed as a low cost, but wide
use ribbon for applications such as shipping labels,
and tags on plain paper to synthetic papers.
"Plus" Wax/Resin:
Formulated for increased heat, chemical and scratch resistance.
This is a cost effective ribbon that provides increased
environmental resistance at higher print speeds and lower
temperatures. It is a good all-around general purpose
ribbon for labels, tags, product definition and shipping.
"Premium" Resin:
Designed for the most demanding environmental and print
media needs. "Premium" Resin ribbons have the
highest resistance to heat, chemicals and scratching
of all our ribbons. The thermal transfer print process
of the "Premium" Resin ribbon occurs at lower
energy and printhead temperatures as compared to most
resin ribbons, enabling you to carry out demanding printing
processes in an energy efficient, cost effective manner.
Thermal FAX:

and Ribbons. Call Customer Service at 888-637-3282 for
more information.
Custom Slit Ribbons:
Additional thermal ribbon widths and lengths, as well as,
thermal coatings beyond NER's "Standard," "Plus" and "Premium" are
offered for more demanding applications. NER can provide
thermal transfer ribbons for almost any printer on the
market. Call Customer Service at 888-637-3282 with printer
specs for additional thermal ribbon options.
- Printhead Wear vs. Economy - Size consideration is important
in determining the width of the ribbon you use. In order
to save a few cents you can use a thermal ribbon that is
narrower than the print media you are using, but the print
media in direct contact with your thermal printhead will
damage it.
